This Week In Science #9

 Paragraph 1: What I DID

Paragraph 2: What I LEARNED

Paragraph 3: Structures and Functions - In this extra paragraph, we want you to compare and contrast the forms and functions of yours and your table mates' organisms.

  • What two organisms were dissected at your table.
  • List at least 3 structures that appeared similar on your pair of organisms
  • List  1 structure that has the same function on both organisms but appears very different.

This week in science we dissect stuff. My group dissected a frog and a mice.Me and my partner dissected a frog.It was fun. I had to cut the skin slowly to open it up.I cut it slowly because i didn't wanna hurt the organisms. After i cut the skin.I had to  carefully cut the fat.Once it was compliantly open. There was a lot of organisms.Like the heart the lung and the fat.The sides felt soft . When I poked it with a knife and A LOT of water came out. There was no blood until i pulled the heart out. Also when i cut the leg off there was blood. The leg has a lot of fat.I also helped dissect a mice.I saw a lot of brown organisms .When i cut it the heart was very small. And so are the hands. It gets pretty empty once i took all the brown stuff out of it.Also the spine is very small.

I learned that frongs skin is very thin its like paper. It was very easy to open it up.I also learned that its tongue is very long. Its really hard to open fogs mouth.I pretty much learned how to dissect. The mice was easy what i learned about the mice is the skin is very easy to peal. Also i learned that mices  tail is conected to its spine. I also learned that the frog has more organisms then mice . Well thats what i think because in the mice there wasnt alot of organisms as much as the frog.

The two organisms that were dissected on my table are the Mouse and the Frog . One of the similarities are the legs. They both have fast legs. But the mices leg is smaller then frogs. Also the frogs legs are longer. Another similarities is both of there livers are brown because they are closely related. Another one is they both have alot of fat. One different function is for the mouse is the legs they do the same job but look different. For the mouse is the same.
