This Week In Science #15

This week in science we did alot of fun stuff. What we did was we wrote in out spider log and we did some work sheets. On Tuesday we did the marshmallow challenge. We did the marshmallow challenge twice.  It was really fun. But my group kept failing and failing. We will defiantly get better at it. On Thursday i wasn't here but i heard they went up to the roof and recorded a video of  them self. The video had to be about you. They had to tell their 10th grade teacher about them self's. Like whats they like , what they do, how they have fun. And also they had to tell their 10th grade teacher about how they grew through the year. I kind of wish i was here because this project sounds really fun.
What i learned was i learned alot about spiders ecosystem and their habitats. Also i learned that if i make the spaghetti tower tall and thin it will not hold the marshmallow the tower will break. My group tried the same thing twice and failed at it. I guess we should of knew that if it didn't work the fist time why would the h*** we tried the second time. But oh well now we know that not to make out tower so tall and thin. I didn't really learn anything about the video project but it was a really good idea to record your self. It gives your 10th grade teacher an idea of how you look if your personality. After all this week was really fun

Working in groups in okay. I think i woke better in groups if i like the people that are in my group.I don't think i got better because i didn't really like my group and that was a problem. But i think i got better at doing the marshmallow challenge. I do like working in groups. Because i don't think its possible to work by your self when you doing the marshmallow challenge because one person has to hold the spaghetti and one person has to tape it. So after all working in groups is good.

This Week In Science #14

This week i science we did the food web videos. We had to put 5 videos of sea animals that eats each other.  Then we also wrote in out observation log. We observed out spider. My spider unfortunately died :"(. Then we worked on some test questions. And then we went over whats ecosystem. And we had a chance to make up some work and that was a great opportunity.

This week in science #12

This week in science we worked a lot with spiders and setting up homes for them. I watch my spider make a web. And I feed my spider. Spiders eat fruit flys. We also went over some reagents questions we learned more about ecosystem and about different kindmos. We made booklets for our spiders. And colored the front page. In the inside we answered some questions abou our spiders. And took notes about our spider. How our spider looked everyday. Did anything changed. Also we had to color. And make our cover page.

What i learned is it takes time for spider to make a web and get comfortable in its home. Spiders wrap any insects they catch in their web then eat it. Also i learned the definition of ecosystem. Ecosystem is a consisting of all the living organisms or biotin components. This week was really fun. I enjoined working with spiders.

This Week In Science #11

This Week In Science we got posters and we wrote definitions or questions about the vocabulary words. We walked around the room and posted them. Then we got our tanks for out spider. We went outside to design it. We put all kinds of plants, flowers, sticks and insects in our tank. I also added some dirt and rocks. We also had to take pictures of the important parts of the ecosystem. I took pictures of plants and trees and sticks. Then we had to make a document and put our pictures and write about it. One thing that Jailin did was she wrote down information about our spider. This is a picture of our tank .

What i learned was that plants and trees are very important for our ecosystem.  I discovers that warms are underground at wet places. A question i had was why do we need to put soil in spiders tank? Do spiders even like dirt? I think that spiders only like webs and fly's. I don't think they need sticks and flowers. I think if a spider eats dirt it will die.

This month in science #10

This month in science we did a lot of fun stuff. Some articed came and they were helping us with our slogan and our campaign. Our topic is waist. And our slogan is "One Starts Million Continues". Which means one person starts littering and million continue. We also went out to interview people outside which was really fun. And it was surprising that David trusted us that was amazing. We asked people on the lower east side questing about waist, transportation, electricity and others. It was really fun me and my team did really good. It took us long time to come up with a campaign.

What i learned was that people in lower east side watch a lot of tv. And they use their computer a lot. Also that not a lot of people are nice. Also i learned that most of the people on the lower east side are pretty sticked with recycling. I also learned the meaning of slogan and campaign. This month was really fun. I didnt really learn a lot.

Human Impact Ad Campaign

This picture is about how one person cleans and others help. This is a positive picture . I think everybody has to have a positive attitude about keeping their community clean. Theirs a lot of garbage in the oceans. I chose this  picture because people should really care about their community and stop trowing garbage everywhere. So One starts Million continue . If one person starts cleaning people would follow that one person and theirs going to be million people .

Wasted: New York Citys Giant Garbage Problem

This article was about waste. And how people trow garbage like it nothing. People really dont care about there garbage. They just trow it and they think its going to end up in some kind of garbage heaven . But it really dosent. Before people use to trow there garbage in the oceans or burn then . But now New Yorkers wanna recycle. But not everybody does. They also shipping garbage to another countries. But thats making a pollution. If everyone takes care of their own garbage everybody would find the way to have less garbage .
My opinion about this article is well not about of people care about their garbage because everybody is busy doing work or something else. But if everybody starts caring the earth  would be a better place. I think this article is so true people do thingg their garbage is ganna end up somewhere in garbage heaven or somewhere same . But really the garbage ends up on the trees or somewhere else . But it wont decapier by its self.

This Week In Science #9

 Paragraph 1: What I DID

Paragraph 2: What I LEARNED

Paragraph 3: Structures and Functions - In this extra paragraph, we want you to compare and contrast the forms and functions of yours and your table mates' organisms.

  • What two organisms were dissected at your table.
  • List at least 3 structures that appeared similar on your pair of organisms
  • List  1 structure that has the same function on both organisms but appears very different.

This week in science we dissect stuff. My group dissected a frog and a mice.Me and my partner dissected a frog.It was fun. I had to cut the skin slowly to open it up.I cut it slowly because i didn't wanna hurt the organisms. After i cut the skin.I had to  carefully cut the fat.Once it was compliantly open. There was a lot of organisms.Like the heart the lung and the fat.The sides felt soft . When I poked it with a knife and A LOT of water came out. There was no blood until i pulled the heart out. Also when i cut the leg off there was blood. The leg has a lot of fat.I also helped dissect a mice.I saw a lot of brown organisms .When i cut it the heart was very small. And so are the hands. It gets pretty empty once i took all the brown stuff out of it.Also the spine is very small.

I learned that frongs skin is very thin its like paper. It was very easy to open it up.I also learned that its tongue is very long. Its really hard to open fogs mouth.I pretty much learned how to dissect. The mice was easy what i learned about the mice is the skin is very easy to peal. Also i learned that mices  tail is conected to its spine. I also learned that the frog has more organisms then mice . Well thats what i think because in the mice there wasnt alot of organisms as much as the frog.

The two organisms that were dissected on my table are the Mouse and the Frog . One of the similarities are the legs. They both have fast legs. But the mices leg is smaller then frogs. Also the frogs legs are longer. Another similarities is both of there livers are brown because they are closely related. Another one is they both have alot of fat. One different function is for the mouse is the legs they do the same job but look different. For the mouse is the same.

This Week In Science #8

The picture on the left is the ventral view. Ventral view is the back. I labeled the eyes because its proximal. The eyes are close to the anterior. And distal from the posterior. The picture on the right is the side view. Side view is the side of the animal. I labeled the antana because its anterior. And distal from the posterior. My first picture is the ventral view feature the eyes. The second picture is the side view feature the antenas.

My aha moment was when I found out that the back view is called vental view. My quotion is why are crikets so small? Also why wasnt there alot of blood when I cut it up? What is the nasty yellow stuff that came out the criket? Is the yellow stuff the crikets blood? I dint really have alot of aha moments. But I noticed that its really easy to break crikets wings. The connection I made was my animal and the rocket challenge we did just because crikets jump and our rockets flew.

This Week in Science #7

This month in science we worked on out slide/video project. In the project out topic or i should say out bio was Tropical rain forest . I did the tropical rain forest slide in the slide i put a lot of pictures and in the video i talked about the pictures. And i also did  the Vegetation slide .My animal was the Earth warm. Earth warms live in tropical rain forest because earth warms love dirt. And tropical rain forest  has a lot of dirt.I made the Before and After climate. Before the tropical rain forest was green and pretty. But after  the rain forest became into white , cold, snowy place. My made up animal is Fire Warm. I named it Fire warm because it blows fire from its eyes ,mouth and eyes. What i learned was how to make slides and how to make a voice recording thing. Thats all.
The major topic for our group was Tropical Rain Forest . We had to make up animals. And write about real animals. It was okay We had to make slides and they are all different. I did some of the slides and my group maids did the other once.I had difficulties with gathering information for the slides. It was really boring. I also had a little difficulties with making the video because there was only 2 people in my group that day. I did NOT like this project because it was boring and stressing. David told us that it was going to be fun but NO it wasn't. I hope we don't do this kind of project ever again .
